Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are collectively known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). These conditions are disorders which primarily affect the gastrointestinal tract. The intestine or bowel becomes inflamed and the symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, which may be blood stained, weight loss and fatigue. These conditions are typically diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 35 but can occur at any age. These are chronic conditions which can be treated with a combination of medications and surgery.
